Slightly annotated version of a post I made yesterday.
I have a friend whose child is hoping to go do an MA at Durham, and she asked me about colleges. I know the undergraduate class situation fairly well, but I don't know much about the postgraduate life in the colleges.
She's hoping for a college with good graduate live-in accommodation close to the city centre (doesn't have to be on the Bailey but not terribly far away; not a scientist). Definitely wants an active MCR with a sense of community and societies, particularly collegiate/MCR sport.
Does anyone have a sense of what colleges might be best? The college websites are great for undergraduates but underwhelming in their graduate accommodation information.
