Dd had confirmation of her accommodation today, Direct debit set up to pay for it. Just hit me - it's real. In 3 and a half weeks she'll be moving ShockSad. Anyone else feeling scared and excited and terrified and exhilarated?

Same here, excited for my kid moving into Uni halls in about 5 weeks, but also feel sick knowing I won't see him for a few weeks.

I know what I got up to during my first year of Uni...my God! DD just seems so young! We're in Scotland, so she's only 17. Didn't know how to use a tin opener until this morning ...Blush

It's going to be a steep learning curve for my kid, he veers between being really switched on then puts empty cereal or milk containers back in the fridge. loses his door key and can't remember online banking passwords. I just think how will he survive! Also if I had to live with him as a student I'd be fed up of him after five minutes!

Mine can’t open doors, never mind tins. She was ‘locked out’ for quite some time last weekend despite having the door key.

this definitely resonates with me - my DS is exactly the same! I guess we can only do some much to prepare them and they will have to find their own way
