Becoming a nurse

Hiya everyone.
I have recently applied for a 4 year uni course in adult nursing.
I have an interview in September but im worried about childcare & earning an income. Me and partner have a mortgage and he earns about. £28000 a year. Im currently on maternity at £600 a month. But this is what we need to live. I really want to go uni but I can't afford to not have any type of income. Has anyone else been in this situation could you claim universal credit, get help with childcare? Any type of help.

Can you apply for student finance? It might be worth checking if you can.

Everyone gets the nursing bursary of £5000 and you’ll also get an extra £2000 for childcare. You can also apply for Student Finance and, taking your partner’s income into account, you should get between £8 and £10 thousand depending on your exact situation, plus extra funding from SF for childcare. On top of that, student nurses can work bank shifts as HCAs once they’ve finished their first placement, so that’s a flexible way of bringing in extra income.
