My son has decided that he would like to go to University this year as he wanted to do an apprenticeship but this is no longer an option. I know that it will now be through clearing...... is there any advice anyone can give me? I'm now worrying about accommodation etc! Thank you

I applied directly to my university in the August. Is it worth him ringing admissions of where he wants to go?

Do it... If our uni is anything to go by, we did badly in non existent online open days during the pandemic and have under recruited. We have loads of places!

I'll get him to contact them, thank you. I think I'm more stressed about this than he is!

NSS results came out today so might be worth a quick look.

3 to consider(assuming suitability / interest in available courses)...Kent is guaranteeing accommodation to Clearing applicants and UEA say that they will endeavour to offer accommodation (iirc, they usually do). Sussex has 300 rooms available on a first come, first served basis.

Hello leftittothelastminute!
I happen to be a Careers Adviser for this age group so can help you
I suggest your son use the good resources on the process itself , dates, and info on clearing, on UCAS.com the 'UCAS hub'pages, plus the UCAS' Student room' pages for questions.
I really rate push.com too .
For a straightforward guide to writing personal statements I sent this out to tutors and advice colleagues this year ( good for all unis- not just Essex) www1.essex.ac.uk/outreach/documents/personal-statement-writing-guide.pdf
Hope these help!
