Hi All, my child has an offer and is looking at accommodation. I would be grateful for any opinions good or bad on the halls. Not looking for a 'party' hall. En suite not essential. Claycroft with 2 sharing a bathroom is a possibility. Any 'village' opinions? Any building work you know about? Many thanks

@pourmeanotherglass

Dd has put Rootes first. She does like to party, but also works hard. She also likes to cook ( she is vegan) so i hope the kitchens are not too horrible. She has put all of the cheaper 40 week halls as her highest choices, as she would rather spend money on going out than on a big room. She also wants to be somwhere close enough to the centre of things to feel safe walking home at night.
My son put Rootes first last year and I don't think he is much of party animal. He had a good year and given COVID Rootes was great as it was really sociable. He also loves cooking and baking. He cooked loads, baked with the virtual baking society and his whole flat cooked together too.

Hey i have received an offer letter from warwick university. I am considering between benefactors duplex studios and cryfield studios but i have few questions.
Can you help me by solving two queries?

  1. for benefactors duplex, what is the height of each floor? I am 5’10” so i am worried about the height

  2. for cryfield studios, is it possible if you could arrange a room tour or maybe just pictures? Because the 360degree view doesn’t show clearly the wardrobe situation of the room

As far as I recall, in the 360 degree room tour of Cryfield Studios, the wardrobe is the white block next to the desk. The set of shelves is fixed onto the side of it. It is a small single wardrobe with some drawers, or maybe just shelves, in the bottom of it.

DD2 was in Cryfield Townhouse which is pretty central but expensive. Her room was nice enough but not especially big, with small en suite. The most annoying thing was she was on the top floor and the kitchen was on the bottom and you’re not allowed kettles in your room, so it’s quite a trek every time you fancy a coffee. Oh, that and the civil war that raged in her flat most of the year, but of course who your flatmates are is luck of the draw whatever accomm you pick!
