Sheffield accomodation

Hi anyone with experience of how arrivals are managed in Sheffield. My eldest has finally firmed an offer and chosen accommodation. The residence complex seems very large with I imagine poor parking. Do they offer precooked slots or is it a free for all?

My DD was in Manchester and they had allotted times. I imagine it would be the same.

Dropping of at Sheffield was well organised when we dropped off ds.
We were given a timed slot. Students were stationed on the entrance directing people as to where to go.
More students showed us where to park and were on hand to help with luggage if needed.
We then had 30 to 45 mins in his room before having to move the car.
It was all very efficient.

Thanks that’s very helpful. We will be travelling a long way if he does end up in Sheffield so a prebooked (not precooked 🤣) time sounds ideal

I’m worried that as a chronic overpacker we will need more than 40mins to unpack and then find it won’t fit! Already tried to suggest he swaps his voracious reading to an e-reader otherwise his room will be filled with books in no time

I dropped my eldest off at Sheffield last Sept. plenty of parking with people directing you. We did have a timed slot but it was pretty relaxed, no one was actually in the flats telling people to hurry up. Good luck!

Timed slots, well organised and relaxed when I abandoned DD there a few years ago. (Sheffield)

And when I got home I realised I didn't know her address! All I could say feebly to DH was It's got a Jarvis Cocker poem on the outside of the building

Don’t say abandoned it’s already a strange thought us not all being together. Barely leaves his room at the moment but at least I know where he is 🤣
