Anyone got an offer from Edinburgh this year or still waiting to hear? Seems to be taking ages. I know they’re normally later.

Even though she’s had her offer none of her friends have heard. Can’t believe how late they are.

My DD is still waiting to hear from Edinburgh for history.

This waiting for offers is much more of a marathon than I had realised!

Does anyone know how they work through the applications - alphabetical, date of application, rejections first?

dc still not heard either but withdrawing from Edinburgh as just got her first choice offer. This is for "combined" degree including history

My ds still waiting, all other universities have replied. What on earth is happening. Ds wants to know what their reply is, bit miffed. It is delaying everything. Does anyone know if they guarantee halls for first years?

Looking at the website, if he will be new to the University,, as long as you live outside the City of Edinburgh and apply by the deadline in August, yes.

Thanks i should have looked for myself really. Sorry. I'm mixed emotions about Edinburgh as it is so so far away.

We are still waiting too. A few of DS friends also waiting to hear - they’ve applied to different courses so not just one course delayed.

He got an unconditional offer for his second choice on 4th Jan so just want to know now so we can start to make plans!

Don’t think Edinburgh accommodation will be of concern. They don’t give you a first choice. Just 5 you’re happy with. The real problem is where it’s your second choice. Durham accom seems to be first come first served. One of her friends has pulled out of Edinburgh because of this. So unreasonable.

Yes. But looking at the student room spreadsheet the most recent updates seem to be more rejections. But I can't see any for his course. I of course know not everyone will upload to the spreadsheet but it's weird, there was one in March I think but nothing since.

I think they allocate in batches based on when you applied and when your offer is firm. However they say later batches have the same chance as early ones as allocation done proportionally. Hope your DC gets where they want. DD going into 2nd year but returning to uni accomodation as has a uni job so happy to pass on questions to her.

Iirc it took a week before dd got the accommodations email but then only had a few days to accept.

All good, she got what would have been her first choice. So glad this is over.
