I have 2.2 degree and spent the last 30 years teaching English and History. Is there any point in applying for a place on the Masters course in either of these subjects when the entry requirements are for a 2.1

From the entry requirements for the MA in English:

You must hold a UK honours degree (or equivalent), preferably in English or a closely related subject, and preferably with at least a 2:1 or higher degree classification.

That says 'go for it' to me. Or at the very least, contact the OU to discuss, as the blurb goes on to suggest. It's not as if you haven't been using your skills since then.

(Presumably, your first degree was actually in a relevant subject?).
