Dd loves geography, physical and human. She's thinking about human geography for university, mainly because she thinks it's more challenging than physical which she finds easier.

She says she wants to be near enough to home in case of Covid related complications continuing

That's why I'm glad that DD is only 2 hours away.
After reading some depressing stuff about catered halls, I would advise getting self catered (well I would anyway).

Aberystwyth offer BA, BSc single and joint honours geography. Obviously not a city experience but highly rated by students

Aberystwyth is doable for distance and not being a city experience would probably suit her. She wants to be near enough to commute from home if absolutely necessary in case it all goes pear shaped with covid again next October, Aberystwyth would be just able doable unless Wales put restrictions on travel from England as we're just over the border, mind you we could always move 200 yards down the road if pushed! Aber also has the advantage of lots of easily accessible countryside (coastal and mountain) for field trips and leisure activities.

@samosamimosa One of mine is at Bristol doing Geo so PM me with any questions. Warwick doesn't do Geo but does do Global Sustainable Development.

@samosamimosa mine chose Geog as it was the subject they were best at and enjoyed. Hasn’t regretted it and walked into a job on graduation

Aberystwyth is adored by its students - it's quite a special experience I think, though not the right place for everyone. Small intake of only a couple of thousand students a year but the university takes over the town. There are scholarships for high-achieving students with As at A-level.
