Advice needed for LSE Law

My DS has recently received his predicted grades, 3xAs, English Lit, Econ and Latin. He was hoping to get at least one A* to meet LSE entry requirements for law. He is thinking of putting LSE as his first choice, ( he says hes capable of meeting this) or should he forget LSE. He has 8/9s for his GCSEs. Advice needed.

His best bet is to see whether his school would be prepared to up one of his predicted grades. He then may get the offer. Does he think he can achieve the A* because there would be no point speaking to the school to do this if in reality he doesn't think he would achieve it and thus miss the offer.
