Hi
I was curious if any of your children had problems during the STEP Maths exams that were held this year in June for admissions to Universities?

I'll tag @AChickenCalledDaal in case she wishes to respond...

Yes my son had problems the ai interrupted 5-7 times on his first question and wanted 360 degree views. They said they thought hr was cheating even though the room was empty. He asked the ai if he could continue and they did not respond

He subsequently contacted Cambridge admissions who reviewed the video footage and said he was indeed disturbed and the AI was over vigilante in his case. They contacted his uni to let them know

He is a bit confused about his results they dont make sense to him. He suspects part if his papers have not been marked maybe due to the upload

There is no appeals process.

So many typos. Need to go to specsavers!

Hi @dumbo1. I remember your son's experience. I'm glad he got some acknowledgement that the level of interruption was unreasonable. Has he tried to establish whether anything was actually missed?

DD didn't make her STEP grades for Cambridge but doesn't think it was because of any IT issues. Her paper 2 mark was much lower than expected, but I believe the colleges have access to papers for any "just missed" grades. So if there had actually been an error such as a missed answer, that ought to have been picked up at that stage.

And at this point, she's pressing forward with her insurance offer and feeling positive about that.

Glad to hear your dd is happy with her insurance st andrews is a really good uni I went to it several times with my daughter

My son is doing off to Warwick and says he might revisit Cambridge for a post grad
