I really want to do a SENDI degree, but I can’t wrap my head around all the things I would need to do. I’m 30 and have been out of education since age 18.

None of the unis near me offer a foundation year so would have to do an access course. I looked at the advanced learner loan and student finance etc but I’m getting frazzled!

I will have to give up work to do full time (I only work part time but I don’t think I’ll be able to fit it around the job) - with no income, is there any financial help for people in my position, to cover living costs etc

Thanks in advance Smile

First, have you got maths and English GCSE? If not, you’ll need those or equivalent.

If there’s no foundation year, the access course is your best shot. This will be covered with an advanced learner loan but it won’t cover your living costs. Most access courses are only 2/3 days a week so you’re able to work at the same time, although may have to change jobs to do so.

Before embarking on the access course, you should check with the universities you’d be interested in, about whether the access course is suitable preparation for the course you’re interested in, and what grades you’ll need to get in the course.
