Cause my ds is very bored. It’s so hard for them - first year, living away having a great time and then back to being stuck in 24/7 without the independence they have just discovered.
How are yours doing - any solutions they have come up with?

My DS is really enjoying time home, he does have lots of essays and revision, he says it is probably the most extended period of time he will now ever be here, he still has 2 years left of a masters. He is so useful round the home now and its lovely having family time.

DD2 is making an absolute fortune from selling her art online! So she’s quite happy in her bedroom for now!

My DD is doing okay. She's done a bit of Art work and written an assignment, we go for walks etc. She is on the phone to friends/boyfriend late in the evening, laughing, watching Netflix, doing quizzes, and playing Club Penguin.

This afternoon she just did my make up! With black eye liner wings and all.

I'm more worried about my DS who just escaped A level exams and is doing absolutely nothing but gaming and being online.

DS1 in his final year of his Master's. Exams cancelled but still has his dissertation to finish, plus a viva and presentation. Lots of talking to his GF. His graduation is postponed until December but so sad for him missing all his final term goodbyes. Also losing money from some gigs, and tied in to rent until mid August. He is ok though.

DD is in her second year in Scotland. All second year exams cancelled. Final essay handed in, all done until September. Lots of crocheting, talking to friends (at 2 in the morning!!). No jobs going just now. She has been furloughed from her zero hour job so should get a tiny amount of money, plus she was able to hand in notice on her flat so is rent free from the end of April. She has cooked us some nice meals though.

Disney + seems to be keeping both going!

My twins are in their last year at Bristol. One had his dissertation to submit last week so has been very busy, the other delayed a week before coming home so has just had 2 weeks at home. Their next essay deadlines are not for a little while and the other has until May for the dissertation so we are hoping for a 5 May reopening of the country and they can go back but we shall see.

i don't think they are bored yet as chatting to friends, last night until late one did a pub quiz (on houseparty) with friends for ages - after I went to bed. Lots of chatting and one has dug up part of the lawn for me as he and I have some veg coming which he is keen to grow. They cycle or walk every day too including in the woods opposite so we have a reasonable set up to be locked in and they do all their own food shopping and cooking - they just finished cooking a nice looking meal for tonight some kind of lentil cottage pie.

They will ahve their exams but they are essays to be done in a certain time and they were only going to have 1 and 2 exams respectively this summer so it is pretty easy to replace with the timed things. Term and on line lectures start on 20 April. I just ordered a new PC for one of them yesterday which will help the on line gaming when they play that with friends. Graduations delayed so I lost £700 on the hotel bookings for July never mind unless they go back ) the £5k I paid for this term's rent before the lockdown.

It is the one planning to work with his friend and then go travelling in Jan - their gap year plan which will be most affected I think. The one starting 2 years post grad law in London living at home from September will not really have his plans altered even if part of that goes on line.
