Psychology A Level/Oxford

Hi my DS is applying to Oxford 2020 for Chemistry. He is a little concerned he may not receive an interview due to the fact he is studying Psychology, Chemistry, Maths not Further Maths, Biology, Physics etc for A' Level. GCSE's are very good.

Has anyone got any knowledge of this - thank you!

Goodbye Your imagination seems to be running away with you. My first post was on 28/719 regarding my DC's place on UNIQ on the Oxbridge VC thread. None of the posts on the Oxbridge VC thread or this one have ever referred to any family member except my DC.

goodbyestranger · 02/08/2019 09:05

No that's right Larry but previously you've mentioned your family. And you cross referenced to another thread so I assumed that was ok.

Larrythelobster · 02/08/2019 09:51

Goodbye I have posted on 2 threads and only cross referenced between those two threads. On neither thread have I referred to any family member except my DC. Your imagination is very over active.

Larrythelobster · 02/08/2019 11:01

Oh no, I correct myself. I referred to a BiL who had worked on the National Citizenship Scheme and persuaded DC to go. Quite a flight of fancy on your part though.

Larrythelobster · 02/08/2019 11:23

^Yeslarry, that's the one! Dgs had a whale of a time and is now a regional rep. He has never been in scouts or anything, so it was quite a new experience. I'm sure a lot of teens would benefit.

It looks as though the staff have as much fun as the DC. My BiL did it when the scheme was first set up and had a whale of a time.^

I really don't think any BiL of mine would be young enough to have been on a UNIQ summer school.

FurnitureAndBackgammon · 02/08/2019 11:58

if you PM me I'll let you have the name of a great book that DS1s school has recommended for TSA

Any chance you could let me in on it too @sandybayley? My DD is taking it in October and her college are pretty useless and don't seem to know much about anything.

sandybayley · 02/08/2019 12:52

@FurnitureAndBackgammon - happy help and sharing here for anyone else.

Larry I try not to breach MN guidelines so I’m just going to leave it there.

Larrythelobster · 02/08/2019 15:37

After all, MN repeat stress the need for posters to retain their privacy when posting on public forums, especially if the disclosure of information could result in people being identified in real life. One can't be too careful when posting about schools, summer schools etc when it is such a small world.

FurnitureAndBackgammon · 02/08/2019 15:38

Thanks sandy 👍

goodbyestranger · 02/08/2019 18:49

Larry I'm sure you didn't mean that to sound like a threat, but it certainly comes across that way and is therefore a little disturbing. I think you might be taking things a little too seriously, but anything which sounds threatening is way overstepping the mark. If you meant it in relation to frequent name changes, my genuine apologies.

Numbersaremything · 02/08/2019 19:25

Exactly Goodbye. Constant references to name changes does get a little tedious.

bpisok · 02/08/2019 19:40

Anyway......back to the question of whether we can all play nicely and hand-hold over the next year?
What do you think ladies (and possibly gentlemen - who knows who is who given the name changes!!)?

bpisok · 02/08/2019 19:42

Oooeeerr....I see that someone has been brave enough to reinvigorate the existing Oxford 2020 thread

sandybayley · 02/08/2019 19:48

How about we all head over to the other thread and start again?

FurnitureAndBackgammon · 02/08/2019 19:51

I'm in 👍
Maybe a nice new shiny thread for a fresh new start?

FurnitureAndBackgammon · 02/08/2019 19:53

How about we all head over to the other thread and start again?

Good idea

goodbyestranger · 02/08/2019 20:21

Numbersaremything that's ironic!

Numbersaremything · 02/08/2019 21:19

Just adding my fourpenworth or however you spell it.

Numbersaremything · 02/08/2019 21:22

Obviously getting the numbers thing in there.

goodbyestranger · 02/08/2019 21:28

Haha maybe stick to numbers not letters then because you got that one wrong :)
