Not really sure what my DS is going to get (sitting next year) but I’m helping him out with a bit of research/narrowing down the options before he goes to open days.

He loves the idea of Birmingham and I see Nottingham do a foundation Ancient History option which looks good.

ABB (Birmingham) is likely to be optimistic so I’m looking for other options to balance that out. Overwhelmed a bit!

He’s keen on Ancient History but will also look at History. He’s not really interested in joint honours.

Any ideas of good options? I’ve looked at the league tables but would really like to here some experiences from others. Thanks! 😊

It may be subject dependent Deianira. DD was looking at biomedical science.

Oh yes, certainly - or it may be institution specific - either way, that's why I think it's worth sharing a range of approaches to the Year Abroad so that readers/their DC can look into it wherever they're interested, and not assume the same approach is taken everywhere.

I agree

DH and I took Ancient History courses at Liverpool several years ago, I'd highly recommend it. I don't know how the course may have changed but the uni & city are wonderful. Our offers were BBC at the time.

a young woman I work with went to Liverpool and really rates both the uni and the city.

DD in third year at Leicester - friend is doing Ancient & early History - they love it there - dd just missed Southampton by 3 marks even though had A* in epq - Leicester much more welcoming - its a smallish campus in a nice area but walking distance to City
