Can a UCAS application get lost?

My ds sent his UCAS form off in November.
4 of the Universities responded with an email acknowledgement very quickly, while one didn't acknowledge at all. He's now had 4 offers while the other still hasn't even acknowledged the application.

Is it possible for a UCAS application to get lost?

Which university is it?
ds applied last year and waited ages for Bath to get back to him. By the time he got the offer, he had decided he didn't want to go there!
I think Durham is known to pretty slow with offers.

Some take ages to make offers, others are really fast. He could ring and ask when a response is likely?

It's Leeds. He's more or less decided on another University in the meantime - it just seems strange that they didn't acknowledge receipt of the application when it went in, as the other 4 Uni's did, but this is our first time doing this so maybe that's normal!

It's normal for some. Not possible for it to get lost. It's electronic and universities download applications from UCAS daily (or weekly if they don;t expect many in the main cycle). Now that the deadline has passed he should get a response soon.

DD applied last week and has heard from 3 out of 5 already. Not Leeds though.

MarchingFrogs · 17/01/2019 18:57

DD heard back from Leeds within about two weeks (Languages, Cultures and IR, French option). is still waiting for a response from Warwick - about 6 weeks now.

DD heard back from Leeds within two weeks. Was there yesterday for an offer day. I would make enquiries.

coffeewonder · 17/01/2019 19:48

That’s interesting that other people have heard back from Leeds fairly quickly.

I wouldn't worry at this stage! It will depend on the department too. Wasn't the deadline this week?
