@piggywaspushed - Fab News! Lovely to bank a pre-Xmas offer!

glitterbiscuits · 20/12/2018 13:11

Newmodel we are waiting for Birmingham too. Their open day was very impressive.

glitterbiscuits · 20/12/2018 13:11

Good news Piggy. I don't know the Uni but the town is lovely

Flyingarcher · 20/12/2018 15:53

Just paid £55 for an audition fee. Eek! He's got another audition confirmed at Chichester where he wants to go. So January is going to be busy! Now just got to get him to learn a piece and not leave it to the night before Winchester audition. Grrrrrrrrrrd.

Flyingarcher · 20/12/2018 15:53

Well done @Piggywaspushed and piglett.

DeltaDelta · 20/12/2018 16:16

YAY!!! Piggy & Piglet whoop whoop! what fab news to end the week. Aber's a good place too. Have a glass of champers on me pls Smile

Piggywaspushed · 20/12/2018 16:19

I might just do that. I have a bottle lying around somewhere!

Monkey2001 · 20/12/2018 16:29

Piggy - wow, that was quick! Felt like you were trying to move everybody along for ages (DS, GPs, school) and you have now jumped into the fast lane! Sorry family are being grumpy. If your DS is like mine, he might be grumpy at home, but much more positive when talking to anybody else - parents are such a trial to teenagers! Aber is lovely place in beautiful countryside and so cheap to live in! Grin

Anyone's DC had offers from Birmingham in the past week or so?

DD has applied (IR and French, or whatever the equivalent is there) but Birmingham is one of the two responses she is still waiting for (the other being Warwick).

My memory is that both Birmingham and Warwick were quicker to respond when DS1 applied four years ago, but that was for Biochemistry.

PhannyMcNee · 20/12/2018 16:37

Hi, late to the party but dc1 sent off her application a couple of weeks ago and the offers are starting to come in. Thought if I snuck in on the end of here I’d keep up with thread 3.

Piggywaspushed · 20/12/2018 16:41

It was phenomenally quick! I guess they just have checklists in admissions and if they meet criteria, out goes an offer.

It does also show the contextual admissions bit works!

None of this 'if firmed' business from them, though!

madmum5811 · 20/12/2018 16:42

I guess everything will go quiet now re: offers until next year. Congratulations to all who have had offers. Everyone else hang on in there.

Piggywaspushed · 20/12/2018 17:19

Maybe mad but I posted on the other thread : two offers today!

Decorhate · 20/12/2018 20:44

Piggywaspushed That is such good news after all the dramas. Nice to get one in before the holidays.

Great news piggy and everyone else with offers coming through.

Monkey2001 · 14/01/2019 19:27

What happened to this thread? New Year Resolutions to cut down social media??

Cambridge rejection here. DS said he is "feeling lost" as his destination has just been cancelled. Will be OK, but a day of wallowing in sadness, pizza and hot chocolate was required.

Decorhate · 14/01/2019 20:31

Part 3 was started before this one was completely full!!

OP posts:
Decorhate · 14/01/2019 20:32

And tough luck for your ds. But it will all work out ok
