Applying as a Mature student

Hello, I have applied as a mature student for an MA course at University and conservatoire type place. Dead line for this was 2 weeks ago. At what point do they start contacting you for interviews etc? Do they tell you if application is unsuccessful? Sorry if this is very obvious- I last went to University 25 years ago, so it's all rather different now. Thank you

Are you certain this information isn't hidden somewhere on the application website? There should be a breakdown of the post-application timetable and an indication of what happens if successful or not.

I would expect at least a month between deadline and response.

Out of interest - what's your subject? (If you can say without identifying yourself!)

I don't know about MA but for my UG course the UCAS deadline was January I think and I started to hear quite soon after that. One uni didn't reply for over a month though.

Ah! I was assuming the sort of conservatoire that selected outside of the UCAS process. I have no idea about current UCAS timetables.

I have now heard back from the conservatoire place and have an audition/interview in a few weeks-eek! Having scoured the websites the university should let you know by January. Thanks for your help with this,

Congratulations, I'm a mature student in York. I hope all goes well for you Smile
