Funding for 18 year old

Ds is 18 next year. He’s done two years of college but wants to do another year.
I don’t understand college funding but assume he would have to pay if over 18?
Is there any type of funding for college students?

FWIW his first and second years were two different courses. He has autism and wasn’t emotional mature enough to go straight to his chosen college so did a year elsewhere learning social skills and was more of a vocational course which he loved and did amazing things for him. The second year is a different course at a different college which he loves and he would like to do the level 3 next year.

Would I have to pay course fees?

Assuming he hasn't done a Level 3 before then you won't have to pay. Good luck to him!

My daughter needed to spend three years enrolled in sixth form due to a medical reason. The school did the paperwork with supporting evidence from her medical team. Is your son involved with any agencies that could help with evidence?

As long as he is still 18 on September 1st he will be eligible for funding.

Ah thank you all! Fantastic! He will be pleased. I don’t know why I assumed it stopped after 2 years. He’s finally enjoying education!
He doesn’t Hostess. He’s not autistic/dyspraxic or dyslexic enough apparently Confused. He’s had help from outside agencies before but not for a while. Although the secondary school weren’t great in recognising his needs.

As long as he is still 18 at start of course / September then course is free - even Uni foundation courses come under level 3
