Pre IB

We currently live in the States.
DD is 14, in 9th Grade, the first year of High School. The plan was to come back and place DD in St.Clare's, Oxford and study the IB in 2020.

However DH wants to come back a year earlier. This would mean enrolling DD into the pre-IB course for the year previous to the two year IB.

Does anyone have any experience please?

That should have said, St Clare's, Oxford - Sorry.

Pre-IB would make sense in your circumstances, as your DD would otherwise have to enter yr11 into the 2nd year of (normally) 2 year GCSE courses. If she's definitely planning on IB for 6th form, then pre-IB works. Pre-IB eould not be appropriate for entry into A levels.

My DC1 is doing the IB, so I'm more than happy to answer Qs about it... although they're doing some subjects not offered at St Clare's.
