I'm a teaching assistant wanting to progress. I'm 23. I went to uni and it was the worst experience of my life! Came home and got a job at the local school, which I love. I wanted to be a teacher initially but settled for TA as I didn't have my degree. I've been doing this for 3 years now and feel ready to move forward. Anybody studied with open university to become a teacher? I want to study ' Early childhood'
Thanks guys

That's what I started doing, with the ou. It's totally viable. You might be able to transfer credits too if you completed any of your previous course. Ring them, they're really helpful.

I see this thread is a few weeks old so I hope you're still around. There are all sorts of ways into teaching these days because there's a real shortage of teachers. Have you talked to the school where you work - they may have some suggestions?
