Failed assignment - nursing

I'm a third year student nurse and I have done well in all of my previous assignments, usually 70+.

I had results for an assignment this week and I've failed with 36. I was very shocked to have failed as I put in the normal amount of work I usually do, I was proud of it!

The feedback was that I hadn't critically analysed enough, the marker did say however, that I had analysed some of my work at level 6.

I just feel that it's so unfair that I have failed, I've hit all the learning outcomes, all my references were perfect, and I had no spelling or grammar mistakes.

I know I'm going to have to just suck it up and try again, does anyone have any advice?

It sounds like you need to speak to your tutor to clarify what is expected of you.

Go over your feedback properly, and then meet with that particular market to discuss how you could improve the piece you’ve written.

I had a similar failure in year 2 of my nursing degree... my failure was because
I’d not gone into enough depth about how “practice nurses have specialist training to deal with chronic health conditions” I literally had to put the above sentence in brackets to pass... which felt like a terrible betrayal when the rest of the assignment was perfect. The second marker said I would’ve achieved 80+ but of course was tethered at 40 as a remark Sad. It’s not affected me significantly, I still got a First, still had my choice of jobs. Realistically, hardly anyone cares what classification you got, let alone your individual grades! You’ll resubmit, and be straight back on track Wink

Thanks for replying Grin I've emailed my tutor to arrange a meeting to go through the assignment.

It has knocked my confidence, but I'm on a good placement at the moment which is helping.
