DELF - common European language framework

Dd is keen to keep learning French but was unable to do A levels in French for various reasons.
There is a DELF French course in the local university which she can do.. A2/ B1 level
Any experience of this... ideally it would be nice for her to do B2 levels which is approximately equivalent to A levels

B2 is the level to aspire to as it is the basic qualification required to study at a French University.

How difficult is it and how long does is usually take to get to that level?
