Please remember with all your uni preparations to make sure that your dd and ds have their meningitis vaccination.

I have just had mine done with ACWY. What are people's views on whether I should also get Men B (only available privately)?

fredafortycoats · 01/09/2017 17:57

Not sure about Men B the nurse didn't mention this.

I dont think they vaccinate anyone born before 2015 for Men B. So guess it would be a private jab.

hugoagogo · 01/09/2017 20:44

Yes very pleased that ds actually remembered to organize this for himself.Grin

RedHelenB · 02/09/2017 06:20

Drs called my rd to come and have it around her 18th birthday which was helpful.

Helbelle75 · 02/09/2017 06:31

I had men b aged 17, was very poorly and had to turn down my university place. Very lucky that it was recognised and treated early and that I recovered well enough to take up my place 2 years later.
My daughter is 4 months old so has had it already. I didn't realise it was available privately and would definitely look into it

Redhelen and Hugo - were your dc caĺled for their Men B or Men ACWY? Or both?

RedHelenB · 04/09/2017 11:54

She wax calked for her Men ACWY.

hugoagogo · 04/09/2017 17:45

I think it's the Men ACWY.

Taxminion · 13/09/2017 20:12

Grrrr DD2 can't even get an appointment for Men ACWY. There is no nurse available at our GP for a month! Nothing at her college that she knows of.
