Student loans questions

I have a couple of questions for those more up to speed than I am:

Will the increased tuition fees of £9250 apply to all students currently on courses at the relevant institutions or only student starting their first year in September 2017?

When graduates repay 9% of earnings above £21000 is this from gross or net salary?
e.g. for a £30 000 salary would the full £810 come off the student loan balance or would it be (£810 - tax and NI)?

Google:

  1. Can be existing students already on courses, university dependant.

Gross salary. Net can depend on all sorts.
