Any one done this course? If so how long/ many hours did it take? Thanks

Yes. I did. I did it at work alongside what I already do as a trainer / instructor. It is quite lengthy. Can't remember the number of hours. It's not the actual assessing that takes the time, it's the write ups afterwards - ensuring you've hit all the units/ elements for the NVQ. Saying that, once I'd got the idea, it took off.
If I condensed all the sessions, assessments, evidence and interviews: probably 2 weeks worth (spread out over 6 weeks)

Thats very helpful, thanks. They've given us up to 18 months to do it so from what you have said that appears to be fairly easily achievable

Yes, like justsometimes says, it can be the write ups that takes time. It really depends on your job role, your assessor and how your 2 (or 3 ) candidates get on as well. If they are enthusiastic it can be done in a short space of time. If you have any queries or problems let me know, I am an external verifier for the A & V awards and I also assess A1 & V1.

I'm doing an NVQ assessors course at the mo, albeit a specialist one with an incredibly bizarre slant.

Its useful, but ermm boring
