I've checked my student loan account online, but it only shows payments up to March 2015. Does it only update at the end of each tax year?

You need to phone them and ask, i know it can be a pain getting through but I don't think anyone else will be able to help you.

Yes it only updates each tax year. You can use the calculator to calculate approximately how much you owe if you know how much you've paid this year.
