Hi, I graduated from university last year and have my heart set on teaching. Unfortunately my partner turned out to be dangerous and I have been on my own since being a few months pregnant. I am currently on income support and really really want to go and do the schools direct course to gain my pgce. However I'm worried about funding during the year I'll be training. As a single parent I have not only myself to worry about but also my son (just turning one). Will I still get income support ? And if not how have people managed rent and food etc for that year ?
