Tuition Fee Loan amount missing from Student Finance Declaration - 2015/16 Form

Eldest DC currently 2nd year at Uni and just received from Student Finance England: a letter which is correct, a University or College Payment Advice which is correct. However, the Student Finance Declaration - 2015/16 Form appears to be incomplete. This form has to be signed and sent back to Student Finance and relates to finance for 3rd (final) year.

The "Tuition Fee Loan amount to be paid to your university or College" box has been left completely blank whereas last year the £9,000 was shown.

I am paying her maintenance so the box above regarding Maintenance Loan has £0.00 in it which is correct.

Has anyone else received a Student Finance Declaration - 2015/16 with the Tuition Fee Loan amount left blank?

Yes, we've had the same thing - I'm planning to give them a call tomorrow.

Thanks for your reply. If you are happy to share I would be very interested to hear what they advise.

I tried ringing them at the end of last week, but could only speak to them in a general way and not specific to her account. DD cannot ring until the end of this week - when she has a block of time free.

I think I rang so quickly after receipt that they hadn't had any other calls relating to this 'problem' - hence my post on here to see if we were the only ones affected or if it was wider spread.

No problem - I didn't get around to it today, but will try first thing and update. I hadn't thought that they may not speak to me (my DS is the student). I'll try to couch the question in general terms and hope they will give me an answer!

Thanks. I could only speak to them in general terms as we didn't set up parent authorisation on her initial application. If you have the correct 'authorisation' you should be able to go through the automated phone system without problem.

Did either of you manage to sort it out?

wavedancer68 · 27/02/2015 18:48

Yes, managed to sort it out today. Turned out to be a printing error.

Student Finance double checked her account and everything is correct so they told her to sign the form and send it back. Evidently lots of students have been ringing up with the same problem.

Just come online to report back the same! Many thanks

I could never get through to them on the phone when I had chance to call - but just had a letter to say it was their mistake, with a new form to sign and send back. What a palaver...

Letter with a new form to sign and send back received here too!!
