I've even succumbed to TSR, having sworn I wouldn't. Still no news here and haven't heard of news from any other source in the same subject at the same college but being very uncool tbh as the reality is that rejection after an interview would be much kinder for DS than a no ab initio. Massively cheered by a late afternoon offer from Bristol though. I thought I was chilled, I'm clearly not .

Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting and hoping. It's very hard to see them disappointed, is the problem :(

DD has got and interview for Caius College! It seems they emailed all their invitations to interview for most subjects on the same day. It is on 9th Dec and unfortunately clashes with her York interview which is a shame but DD said she would withdraw her application for York.

What is TSR?

TSR is 'the student room' frequented by stressy, ambitious teenagers angsting over UCAS, offers etc and with a high proportion of high achievers. they maintain spreadsheets etc of who has offers where and prior exam results, when offers were made etc, but its not a good place for people who want to stay calm and relaxed...

Hello! Interview for English! Emailed yesterday evening. Hooray. Molio I'm keeping my fingers xD for your ds. Although TSR is a bit hard core I have found the "applicants thread" secretly useful as a stalking zone this week in terms of finding out when the various subject offers are being made by the different colleges. Stopped me stressing about the silence.

Molio great news about Bristol. That's where mine will most likely be heading - as long as she gets the (eeek) A*AA! No pressure.

I looked there last night as I was bored, and someone had posted links to four colleges that gave details of decisions made. Oriel had done loads; St John's 4! Such a variation!

Hoping for good news arriving today (otherwise it's going to be a horribly long weekend :( ).

Hello all - can I come in? We're waiting to hear from New College for French and Philosophy.. On pins here.. I'm told Modern Languages call interviews quite late but oh my the suspense!

DD's in a good position otherwise, four very achievable offers from Bristol, Exeter, St Andrews and UCL but her heart is set on Oxford. Hope she gets an email today.

Hi curious, 4 great offers, well done to your DD!
DD has had an email requesting her to prepare another essay for her to discuss at interview (she doesn't have to send it in, just learn it and present it on the day). It's such a marathon process isn't it?
I suppose it's at least one section of one interview that she can pre-prepare and it's on an area that she interested in.
It does make the Bristol offer seem fabulously uncomplicated though!

For me it's tied up with the fact that - shamefully - I am finding it hard to deal with my daughter growing up and going away. Once I have more of an idea where she's going, I can start to arrange my thoughts and feelings a little better.

I don't think it's shameful at all Marianne, it's a sad but exciting moment when the flee the nest. DD2 may board from September so my home will be suddenly be very empty, tbh I 'm finding it easier to focus on supporting them in getting there and ignore the actual leaving part at the moment, it's too painful.

Still waiting for physics

Was happy though as she had an email from Bristol with all the sports scholarship forms, which they'd like done soon. Edinburgh won't talk sports scholarships until after you accept their offer. But it def gave her a spring in her step.

I've sort of done it before with my stepchildren. So memory tells me that they do come back!

Had some great news this afternoon, interview at RPC! So happy for DD. Hope all those still waiting get to hear soon, I know how long and hard it is.
