Just wondering what your experiences are, in as much as how many have come back 'home' or gone on to live/work/study elsewhere after the course has ended.

People I work with, their kids came back to their home town and managed to secure good employment.....

I graduated 6 years ago and most people I know stayed in the university city/town and got jobs (me included). Some went elsewhere to continue their studies, get jobs but they are now making their way back here.

I know of only a few people from school who moved back to my hometown but they didn't go very far to uni in the first place. I wouldn't be able to get a job back home, I guess it depends on where people's home is in the first place.

I graduated three years ago and returned to London (my home town), but not to my parents' home - I was lucky as DH was already working and we were able to buy a house there. Quite a few other friends have also moved to London, but none of them were originally from there and they are all in house shares.

A few have gone to other cities - Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham (sometimes their home towns, sometimes not). I only think one of them has returned to their home towns. I went to a well-respected but rather provincial RG university, and most students came from small villages/towns/suburbia, where it's hard to break into the more interesting/lucrative fields.
