Incomplete degree on CV

Can someone please advice. How do I edit my CV after 5 years out of work and an incomplete degree. Do I add it at all. I'm obviously hoping to finish it part time once I'm back working as I wouldn't qualify for student finance. I desperately need to start working ASAP for financial reasons. I was studying towards a Foundation Degree and only needed to have 2 modules marked for me which my lecturers had in their possession to graduate and then top it up at university for my undergraduate degree.

Oh just to add I did receive a higher diploma or something like that because I didn't graduate.

Add the qualification you were awarded (diploma). Don't mention an incomplete degree.

Just to say are you sure you wouldn't qualify for a student loan in order to finish the degree? If you are going for a qualification higher than you already have it should be eligible, student finance rules have changed a lot in 5 years..

Definitely agree list the qualification you have, not what you don't have, and in the same vein put in anything positive (such as volunteering, caring etc) that you have done in your 5 years rather than just leave a hole in your CV.

Thank you ladies. Will mention the diploma I do have. As there are such conflicting advice. Will try and find out if ill be eligible to still get finance.

If you have problems, it will either be because of the ELQ rules, or the rules surrounding how many years of student finance you can have - length of new course + 1 year - number of years of SF previously received = funding available, though if you have Compelling Personal Reasons you may be able to claim for more years. CPR could include having to drop out for MH / pregnancy reasons, for instance.

Anyway, read up on those rules, as that may answer your question.
