LLb? Or not?

Hi all,

Some help please. I know this is not a large problem by any stretch!

I am in my late 30's and have been a SAHM for 7-years. When I was younger I started an LLb (Law Degree), but never completed. The lack of LLb never really held me back, before children I had a sucessful career in Corporate/Commercial Contracts.

I have started a part-time LLb but to be honest I am not enjoying it that much. I am doing well in it, however. We can afford for me to study, but tbh I am torn. The money could be used elsewhere. I am not looking to qualify as a Solictor or Barrister.

I am looking to go back to work in my old career and have had interviews, getting through to 2nd round interviews. However, I am not 100% sure I am going back into my old line of work.

Any advice would be great

Err what do you want to do?

You don't enjoy the LLB for its own sake and don't need it as a qualification. So the key question is what would you rather be doing and what qualifications will you need for that.

DS did the LLb and hated it as it didn't compare with real life court situations (he sat in on a couple of major drug and money laundering cases with a friend who's a solicitor and won a mooting competition but only managed a 2:2) and with hindsight he'd have done a different degree and the legal conversion course. As it is there's hardly any training contracts for solicitors thank god he didn't start his LPC in September and he's going to do the Legal Execs course first so he won't need a training contract if he does do the LPC.
