We've applied for a loan and the website says they have all the information they need to process it - should that mean all is in order? We shouldn't have had any emails or paperwork or anything?

The SLC is notoriously unreliable. You can't ever presume it is ok until the money is in the bank Angry

Dd2 has had paperwork, accepted the loan and has received a schedule payments. DD1 never had any problem receiving her money on time. Did you apply by the deadline?. I would query the fact you are still being processed if you applied by the deadline as DD2 has had to take her confirmation of tuition payment loan to Uni.

When did you apply? If you applied before the deadline you should have recieved the information showing the ammount the student will recieve by now. If you have recieved no further communication, ring student finance ASAP and ask why they have not finished processing you yet.

If you made a late application, this is concerning in the sense that it means the payment will probably be late, but there is not much you can do about it except wait. They have no duty to process late applications in any sort of timescale, although if you haven't heard anything by October it would be worth ringing them to hassle them.

You should have recieved paperwork saying how much money the student will get, and with it a declaration form to sign. If you don't sign and return the declaration, you don't get the money

Contact them as soon as possible

DS phoned - despite the site saying 'we have all the details we need' and 'we are not waiting on any evidence', apparently they need to see his passport. Not that they were going to tell us that, apparently. Grr. Thanks for the advice! Perhaps we can salvage this in time.
