Anyone have any experience of MFL at Swansea Uni. It's DDs first choice.

No experience there but the usual factors would apply in considering if its a good choice for her or not- will she get the grades, does it offer the mix of languages she wants to study, is there a year abroad and where, what are the graduate employment figures like etc.

Other things like where would she live? Is it a campus uni ? All apply too.

Where else is she applying and is Swansea the 'top' of her list of aspirations? Or is it a stretch for her?

I'd be thinking about all these things....

No experience of MFL at Swansea but Ds has applied to do Marine Biology there. We went to an applicant open day last Wednesday and both of us really liked it as a university.

No experience of Swansea but DS does European Languages (Spanish, French & German) elsewhere in Wales and is very happy. Visiting was crucial for him. He was offered places at all his choices, a couple more prestigious, but he didn't feel comfortable when he visited but was totally comfortable with his firm choice from the outset.
Make sure it offers the type of course required. DS's course is VERY language based but some places are strong on literature which he wasn't keen on.
Does it offer flexibilty to pick up/drop one or more languages?
What is support like on Year Abroad (this will be tested nest year for DS)?

Hi all. Thx for posting.
DD has had an offer from Swansea which she's going to accept. French with ab initio Spanish. She's decided to have a year out in France as au pair first though, so she can have her whole third year in Spain. Happy days!
Swansea is a lovely Uni.

Congrats to your DD. Sounds like she's got it all mapped out - hope it all goes well.
