Learning from home?

Not sure if this is the correct topic but anyways...

I am currently a lone parent to four kids seven and under. I have not long applied for a course at college starting in September. However it's only one evening a week and I would like to study more.

Does anyone know anywhere online where you can study and it might not cost much or be free? I am talking more things like creative writing courses, cookery or such like that don't necessarily end in a qualification or certificate but just give me something to do to keep my mind busy and keep learning?
