Learning to Drive

I'm now at the age where I think I should learn to drive - a mere 44! Good coordination skills, reflexes but no sense of direction. Should I still give it a go?

Absolutely! My mum learned at the age of 60. Smile

Brilliant! I'll go for it then!

Definitely, learning to drive is a lot of fun. I didn't pass until 2 days before my 35th. I honestly don't think I would have learnt quicker any earlier. My teen daughter passed 4th test, I passed my 2nd. Enjoy!

Hello diamond Doris I am thinking of learning to drive at age 30 feel old and nervous, did you start your lessons how are you getting on?

DorothyGherkins · 01/04/2012 21:07

I was 46, it took a years worth of lessons, and I passed first time. Changed my life beyond recognition, not having to rely on anyone else for transport. Do it Doris and Universalis!! The only advice I would offer - if you dont get on with your driving instructor and feel relaxed with them, change until you do! I couldnt get on with my first two, my first was a woman who just talked non stop, the second was some woman hating man who was constantly berating his wife! The third one was a fantastic calm lady, I used to look forward to lessons.
