OU credit transfer, how does it work?

I nearly completed two years of uni (failed two modules in second year, worth 40 credits by the university's count)

The course I want to do is closing, and is no longer available at level one.
It's a very, very similar course to the one I did, (except I can handily leave out the bits I was shite at) so can I expect to get full credits for first year, or will is it rare for them to award full credits for level one?

(I have also completed level one on another course. They are both sciences, but not very similar, so I don't know how that will affect my credits)

Also, how long does it take to process the credits transfer. I'm itching to get started.

TIA

Ask registry if you can take the credit elsewhere and check with where you want to go to see if they will take them.
If you have all year 1 credits you may be able to go into year 2.

It will depend on the degree you want to do with the OU. You will get more for a free-choice degree like the Open Degree (up to 240 points) than a named degree. There is a pdf file that you can download on each degree profile on their website that will give you an overview of the maximum number of points that can be awarded. You can get general credit exemption and course related exemption on the degrees.
