Hello any body with any experience of the new qcf qualifications i am currently working voluntary in a school as a teaching assistant, and would like to become qualified in the position, but have recently discovered that the n.v.q and cache qualifications are being phased out,

www.accreditedqualifications.org.uk/qualification/5011024X.seo.aspx I believe this is the one replacing the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education.

If you are working as a TA at the moment, you can contact your local college and see what they offer these days. It should give you an idea of what is available. Have you spoken with your employer, as they should also know about training opportunities.

T think the plan is that anyone in Child related jobs will have a minimum of a Level 3 Diploma sized qualification - A level standard.

NVQs will still be there, just renamed as Diplomas and I thnk that the TA's qualifications will still exist - have a look at the City and Guilds website and see what they say.
