UCAS 2011 application - please advise

The son of a friend of mine is applying for PPE and related subjects in the UK and has asked me to reread his UCAS application.

He has listed Durham twice, once for Economics with Politics and once for Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Can anyone advise whether it is worth applying to the same university twice for such similar courses?

Yes definitely. DS1 did this last year to Durham and got offers for both courses and accepted them both as 'firm' and 'insurance'. We had previously been told by the university that this is fine and that the they are treated separately. If you/him are not sure then phone the admissions tutor for each course and check.

Yes it is, UCAS procedures have changed.

Thank you both very much for your quick replies.
