year 12 options help please?

ds wants to do business at uni next year, he got A in business as and B in media, however got U in maths .He has been advised to retake maths and take another subject, which will give him 2 a levels and 2 as levels.I think he should scrap maths altogether and take 2 new as levels. Advice please?

Does his school allow him to 'fast track' a subject?

Where I work, many students who have this problem usually drop the failed subject and then pick a third which they study over 10 hours a week (5 AS and 5 A2).

They do need to be committed and work hard to make this work, but I usually find that in my subject, fast track students usually get the best grades. That said, fast tracking doesn't work for all subjects and his choices may be limited.

But this may be an option if his school / college allows it.
