i just want ideas really. ds wants to go to university to study business. he isnt expecting great a level results, b's and c's rather than a's. can anyone suggest any good places to study? so far on his list is oxford brookes, bath spa and greenwich.i think he has prob looked at these because he has visited these areas before. any suggestions? (doesnt have to be southern areas)

Hull? Grimmish place but the business school supposed to be good.

Lilymaid · 11/07/2010 22:45

Agree that Hull is well worth considering = he'll need 280 UCAS points for 2011 entry (BBC).
Good campus in traditional and well established university. Great student life with big student union building, on campus night club and good sports facilities. Plenty of decent inexpensive accommodation. Business school on campus in newly converted buildings. First year is common to business school so possible to change specialisms during course. Possiblities for year out in industry or university abroad.

Winchester?

Bearing in the mind the amount of debt that will be accrued, and bearing in mind that first degrees in Business aren't MBAs and Bath Spa isn't the LSE, what do the employment prospects look like? I've recruited graduates, but they usually have skills to actually do a specific job.

not too sure of your point tokyo, what would you suggest that an 18 year old does in order to get a job in the business industry?

"the business industry?" What is this?

Kez100 · 20/09/2010 14:08

What role does he want in business?

Just an example: I did BTEC National Diploma in Business (that's A level standard), then - rather than going to Uni - I got a job (training contract and low paid but they gave me study leave and paid for my exams and tuition) and studied at same time for my accountancy foundation (called AAT now, I think) and then ICAEW exams(Chartered Accountant).
