Sitting solution for 5 week old

My ds is 5 weeks old and is now sitting up if a back rest is there, i.e. that is all the support he needs. I really don't want to put strain on his muscles or stomach but he seems so happy in this position. Has anyone any product recommendations that will support him but let him sit in this position. He's really way too small for a high chair!

I think they are way too young to support their head at this age but there are some good bouncy chairs that adjust to a more upright position (we had a chicco one) so have a look for one of those. Or the other alternative is to carry him in a sling if he prefers to be upright.

We had a baby seat from mothercare that was from birth, like a baby beanbag.

It fully supports baby but does give them a bit of lift so they can see what's happening. My DD adored being in it until she got too big around 6 months.

Resist the temptation to put him too upright at this stage - they really haven't the muscles for it. Even long periods in a car seat are not good. Bouncy or rocking chairs are perfect, mine loved them, upright enough to see the world but still plenty of support.

We also had a Chicco one, similar to this and it does go quite upright but was also good for snoozing. Or use an infant car seat indoors.

He has got a bouncy chair that sits him at 45 degrees, but he seems to play for a lot longer and be a lot happier if he is more upright. I'll have a look for the adjustable ones. He spends a fair bit of time in the car seat with me going from place to place so I want to limit that really, besides the fact that they get so warm in them.
