Tripp Trapp (sp?) - do "big" children really use these?

I'm thinking of getting a couple of these for dds (2 yo and 4 yo) as they don't want to sit in high chairs, booster seats don't seem to work brilliantly but they are a bit too low down at the table to do activities etc at the table comfortably. Can anyone tell me a bit about tts for older children? Do you think I'll get a few years out of a tt or will they be a waste of money? Any views/experience gratefully received.

My 5 year old has used his daily from 6-7 months as does his 9 year old sister.

They are sooo expensive....

How about just putting a cushion or folded blanket underneath them?

My dd1 is nearly 7 and still using a chair which is similar to a Tripp Trapp, which she's had since she was six months old. It is looking a little the worse the wear thanks to spillages, though...

My cousins are 5 and 6, they both still use theirs, as they are then high enough to reach the table. The footplate is great as it means they are stable without their legs danging, and also helps them to climb up onto the chair without needing adult help!

My 7 and 5 year old still use theirs. My 9 year old has migrated to a normal chair. I think they have been my best buy in terms of value for money. We have 3 and they all still look fab. Zero wear and tear.

4yo and 9yo DDs still use theirs. In fact, when friends come for tea they all fight over who will sit on one. Comfy for grown ups too as extra chairs

I think they are great but my 3.9 year old has refused to sit in his for a good few months now - despite the fact we got the Tripp Trapp in a finish to match our dining chairs, he still knows the difference and wants a grown up chair. I don't get it as he has to kneel on a normal chair to reach the table whereas the Tripp Trapp looks far more comfortable. But that's 3 year olds for you.

DC2 due in May so we will get use out of it as a highchair again thankfully.

My ds is nearly 5 and uses his both for sitting and eating, but it also makes him an ideal height to do other things at the table comfortably. Looks good as new, despite being used since he was 6mo.... And will have the high back removed once the seat is a bit further down so that it looks even more 'normal'.

The only downside is that it hurts like h*ll when you trip over the legs that stick out at the back.

Ds is 5 and a half and I am thinking of buying a version of the tripp trapp for him. Our dining room chairs are so low, he has a cushion and still has to kneel it really isn't ideal.
