Boosters (for sitting at table)

Can anyone recommend a good booster for a tall and bigger than average 2.5yo boy? Don't want to pay the earth but it has to be sturdy. TIA

We have a handysitt and it's great. Got ours from John Lewis, but think you can often get second hand ones as ours cost about £60 new. We've used it from when our dd was quite young about 12 months old I think. she prefers sitting at the table with us. The handysitt is great, as it folds flat, so easy to take away, or if visiting friends/grandparents etc. Our dd is now 2.3yrs and we will carry on using it until she is too big for it. Its easy to clean too. Only downside for you is I'm not sure how much use you would get from it if your ds is quite big, perhaps only really about 12months.

I have this for my son (an older version) booster seat

It's very sturdy and has had over a years use several times a day every day. It still looks as good as new.

That's good, just to say that usually we remove the tray and just push Ds under the table. That way he feels like he's eating with us

does he need a booster if he's tall for his age? Ds is a brute strapping lad and he doesn't need a booster anymore but before he moved to normal chairs he had this which was excellent

If sitting on a "big" chair, he still struggles to eat without any assistance height-wise, also I want something sturdy to contain him for as long as possible when at the table, esp out and about etc!!

yes, the restraining aspect is appealing and something I now miss!
ds does have a tendency to decide when he's finished and start to get down without the usual courtesies!
mothercare also do a plastic one with a 2 point harness
I liked the portability of the Polar one and it goes in the washing machine too (didn't say it did but I tried it, removing the inner cushion bit first and it came out a treat!)

I got some cheap generic one from Argos. It cost about 17 quid and its great. I cannot believe I didnt get one of these sooner! Didnt discover them till DC4. So much better than a great big manky high chair.

DS loves it too.

I can't think about the money I could have saved if I hadn't got the mamas and papas all singing all dancing highchair!

I got the safety 1st seat. It's okay but Ds can pop open the harness by pushing his tummy against it. He also does this with ikea antilop and stands up!
Just ordered a chicco 360 to try. Hope i can keep him in that! He's not even in the highchair for anything other than eating and not for more than about 15 mins so this escaping behaviour is a tad annoying!

Ended up getting this one, very pleased with it - does the job and cannot be undone!
