I am a grandparent and was gifted a brand new Reecle zA06 child seat when my grandaughter was born. When fitting it in my car rear facing the isofix clicks in and the arms go green but when I put her in the arms don’t appear to lock. The isofix stays in and green but the adjustment arms don’t lock, but slide back wards so I can’t adjust the size for rear facing ( she is now 12 month and grown) if the seat Is forward facing ( she is not ready for this) it stays and doesn’t slide. Does anyone have experience of this car seat please? Is it suppose to do this? or is it a fault? Would really appreciate some advice . Thanks

There is a specific car seat thread - if you ask MNHQ to move your post there, there are some very knowledgeable posters who can probably tell you exactly what you need to know :)

Hi OP - I am unsure what you mean by the isofix arms not locking, but if they aren't secure then I definitely wouldn't use the seat just in case.

Are they sliding the child seat closer to the backrest of the vehicle seat, or do you mean it is more loose sliding further towards the front of the car? I wonder if you mean you can't adjust it to the rear facing recline position, is that right?

You're right to say baby needs to be rear facing as 12 months, too.

Also have you got sorted with the top tether? This is an important piece which mustn't be forgotten as well.

To be honest I have not heard a lot of good things about the Reecle car seats - I'm not sure their quality control is very good, which is a bit alarming on such a safety critical product. Can you contact the place it was bought from and see if they will accept a return, as it may be faulty? This should be possible even if it's outside the usual returns window.

If you need a replacement seat without paying too much, I would recommend Joie 360 Spin/GracoTurn2Me, they are spinning ones but much easier to install. Or Halfords even have a rear facing seat up to 105cm called Impala which is only £60.

Not sure why this thread has been bumped by what looks like a bot - but OP please check whether your seat is one of these:

You need to check the orange approval sticker for the number "E8" in the big circle (that is common, and simply means it was approved in Czech Republic) and also the long number under this - if this matches 0313715 - the seat could be dangerous and should no longer be used.
