Do I need a baby bouncer?

I wanted to get some opinions on how useful people found a baby bouncer? We're in a small flat so space is at a premium. I know that I do want to get a baby gym for learning and development. Just not sure about the bouncer. Would be great to hear people's experiences with it. Thanks.

Some don’t like them. I would borrow one for a bit, then if they like it you can get them very cheaply on local sites/whatsapp groups etc. You’ll only use it for a few months so people are always giving them away. Same with play mats, jumperoos, etc.

I got the cheapest one Amazon do that I use most days for the baby to sit in while I shower/use the loo!

We had the baby bjorn one for my second DC and it was a god send and probably most used item! DD loved being in it and it was so easy to move around the house as it was light. Wish I had found it for my first child.

I've had two children and have pretty much only used mine for whilst I'm in the shower or whilst I'm cooking a meal (we have a galley style kitchen). And even then it's only when DH is not available to help out (so mostly in the week). So I suppose it's how your flat is laid out and whether you might already have alternatives that might work?

It was essential with DC1. He could sit and watch the world, play with toys, have a snooze. Which helped me to cook, shower and hoover(that was a good one to watch!).

But DC2 had reflux and could not be put down for the first few months and even when we were able to use it at wasn't for more than a couple of minutes.

So wait and see what kind of baby you have. You wouldn't need it for the first couple of weeks anyway. Maybe borrow one at first.
