Baby Walker

Hello
Does anyone have a baby Walker they would recommend for carpets ?

My baby isn't walking yet but crawling everywhere so would be good to put her in something that still allows movement safely!

Can't find one with great reviews

Any thoughts appreciated!

Baby walkers really aren’t safe. I didn’t think anyone still uses them, I’ve never even seen one except in photos from the 1980s. I promise I’m not a safety nutter, they’ve been illegal in Canada for well over a decade, send about 2000 American kids to the emergency room every year and have even caused deaths. I’d look at getting a Jumperoo instead or maybe one of those trolley things baby can push for when they’ve pulling to stand.

I was just coming to say pretty much what @LakeShoreD said. Only thing is, I wouldn’t recommend a jumperoo either.

I was a paediatric physio in a previous life and both are not good for hip development.

This is really interesting thank you both

I think I know the 80s ones you mean, I'm talking about that are a bit more modern. They are cushioned and have toys on the front.

However I will definitely rethink after your comments!

As above, walkers are no longer recommended, they are dangerous (I still have a scar next my eye from using one as a baby!) but can also cause damage to babies hips and calf muscles and it causes them to walk in an unnatural position.

Get one of the ones they can pull up on and push to help them learn to walk.
I have this one for my DD for when she's ready, the wheels are wide so good on carpet.

I'd say if baby is crawling a jumper would be a waste of money.
