Stokke tripp trapp advice needed!

A family member wants to buy LO a stokke tripp trapp chair (seriously lucky thing!) and we have been asked which colour. I love some of the painted colours but am concerned that they'll chip more and become more used looking than the natural wooden ones. Does anyone have experience of this? Or do they stand the test of time? I know the stokke guarantee covers them for 7 years, but the chairs are so expensive that I'm wanting it to be a seriously long term investment!

Thanks for any advice

They all wear. I have a wood one for 17 years. It looks fine but the foot plate part is scuffed (it has done my own two plus visiting children) a friend had a red and an orange one I thought their scuffing was more obvious but really they a functional (and fabulous) piece of furniture, wear and tear is part of them.

Best baby product ever though I didn't get the baby attachment for my first (she didn't use it til 18 months) and borrowed the baby rail for the second, it was a little awkward from my pov however they used it for 7 years I'd say, each. So definitely paid for itself.
