We're making plans to update our highchair reviews and we'd love to know which ones you'd recommend.

If you've used and loved a highchair in the past two years, we'd love to hear about it. Your comments will help us to create a shortlist of chairs to test out and recommend to new parents.

Also, if you have any tips on what to look out for when choosing a a highchair please share them on this thread. We'll include these comments in our buyer's guide

Thanks!

I bought an Ikea antilop for MIL's. Was so much better than the bulky one I had at home.
I agree that antilop followed by Tripp trapp should be the law. The babyset for the Tripp Trapp is nice, but the wooden slots get very smeared in early weaning so best with antilop to start with.

llangennith · 21/02/2019 15:57

IKEA Antilop of course. Easy to clean and I liked that you could take the legs off easily to put it in the car so could take it with us if necessary.

SingleMumFighting · 21/02/2019 16:15

Tripp trapp. Its totally worth the money. 8 years later and its still in use and looks good. It was excellent for getting my children used to sitting at the table from 6 months.

Jamhandprints · 21/02/2019 16:20

I bought the Aldi one for £10(because I couldn't get to ikea). It's simple but easy to clean and looks good. It helps baby stay up and she has always loved it. She's only 8 months so not sure how it will be for a toddler but it looks good to me.

CircleofWillis · 21/02/2019 16:23

Tripp trapp and Ikea antilop for grandparent’s house and travel.

TillyTheTiger · 21/02/2019 16:27

Another vote for the Ikea Antilop, definitely not the stupid easily-stained, impossible-to-clean, bulky, padded chicco polly 3in1 that I wasted money on

Tubbykins · 21/02/2019 16:52

IKEA antilop. Cheap, indestructible, easy to clean, insert cleans well and as so separately we bought 2 so for when one is in the wash.

Plus a lot of places have then, such as cafes so DS was very happy as he was used to it.

Brilliant for taking on self catering holidays too.

Ikea Antilop! Thanks to MN!!! Cheap, soooooooo easy to keep clean. Brilliant product- possibly not great if you have a small space as it's none collapsible but it is by far my best baby buy.

M0reGinPlease · 21/02/2019 17:50

Am I the only person who constantly trips over the legs of the Antilop?!

We had an Antilop in the boot of the car for grandparents and travel etc and a Tripp Trapp at home- bloody love it and DD uses it as a seat now.

TeddyIsaHe · 21/02/2019 17:53

Antilop and then Tripp Trapp. There is no other options! Both easy to clean, wildly differing price points obviously, but the TT lasts and lasts (I use it as my office chair now) and is worth the money.

Rayna37 · 21/02/2019 18:06

I love our Keter multi-dine. Not everyone lives near an Ikea!
About £35-40, easy to clean, legs come off and store neatly under the seat which is great for travel and means it forms a seat which can be sat on a bench seat if the floor like a bumbo.
So glad I chose it over the much less practical wooden one I'd had in mind.

To offer an alternative to the Ikea Antilop, (which is great), the Baby Bjorn highchair is excellent. No straps to get filthy, tray prevents food from being deposited in baby's lap, compact, holds baby securely, has foot rest... I only wish the lip of the tray was a little higher.

BikeRunSki · 21/02/2019 18:16

For people who don’t live near an Ikea, they now deliver.

Justme10 · 21/02/2019 18:17

The Bebe one from Asda for me as well, very easy to keep clean and turns into a junior chairs

leasedaudi · 21/02/2019 19:25

Antilop, why is this even a question? 🙄

Hoppahouse · 21/02/2019 19:27

IKEA Antilop

onthebonnybonnybanks · 21/02/2019 19:36

1st we had the Ikea Antilop. Cheap so obviously wins on the price front. However I found it got dented/ scratched / stained easily as the plastic tray is quite soft. This one was the ugliest of our three and the one that appeared to take up the most space.
2nd we had the Baby Bjorn. Still have it and love it. It has the easily detachable tray which goes in the dishwasher and so is v easy to clean (and to clear away the food when baby decides to throw a wobbly and you need to clear FAST). At £200 it’s expensive but even if you only ever have one child they are going to use it several times a day for a good three years so maybe it’s worth the cost....It’s very secure and safe and I found that baby can sit it in from about 5 months (I didn’t find the antilop so flexible for younger babies). It also looks sleek and quite stylish.
3rd we bought the trip trap and are currently using it with the newborn insert for our 5mth old. It looks like a nice piece of furniture rather than a high chair and comes in a huge range of colours. The choice of accessories is very wide if not a bit confusing and once you add all the bits and pieces you can be in for several hundreds of pounds. Saying that it can be used as a chair for your children until adult apparently so £per day perhaps it’s not so much.....
I didn’t pay full price for either (ex-display on the Baby Bjorn and eBay on the Trip Trapp and honestly I would not have paid full price for either) but having had them now I probably would (if that makes any sense?!)

MissyPG · 21/02/2019 19:49

IKEA Antilop- just bought another as my DD refused to move out of it for my DS!

SherlockSays · 21/02/2019 19:55

Ikea Antilop!
It pleases me greatly when I go to restaurants etc. And they also have them.

GlossyTaco · 21/02/2019 20:09

The cheap white plastic Asda highchair that pps have mentioned.

ShabbyAbby · 21/02/2019 20:18

Ikea Antilopp

Wish I'd never bothered with anything else (and will never bother with another one again)

ShabbyAbby · 21/02/2019 20:19

And I have two Blush

Laquila · 21/02/2019 20:26

If you want something that folds down with one hand (rather than comes apart with legs off like the Antilop), the creepily named Joie Mimzy Snack is great and was one of the few we found that had an adjustable tray that could be brought right back for a v skinny child.

Our inherited Tripp Trapp is the absolute GOAT though.

BonjourMinou · 21/02/2019 20:28

Antilop. I was given an all singing, all dancing Chicco one which was massive, difficult to clean and took up half the front room. I gave it away and bought a folding wooden one which I thought would be more attractive and less obtrusive. The straps wouldn't even go around baby! And I had a slim baby.
So based on all the Mumsnet recommendations I bought an antilop, now being used by child 3. It's perfect, so cheap and easy to clean.

My mum has the Asda one mentioned up thread at her house. She loves it because she can take the bottom legs of the high chair off and have baby at armchair height 😁
